The Catenian Association, a network of support and friendship

The Catenian Association is an international body of Catholic men who meet at least once a month in local units called Circles. Kenilworth Circle meets every month to enjoy each other's company, support each other and through that support strengthen their family life and faith through friendship.

On an individual basis, Catenians take an active part in the life of their parishes and many play a leading role in their dioceses and Catholic lay organisations locally and nationally. Kenilworth circle is a part of Province 6, a group of 21 Catenian Circles in the West Midlands.

The name comes from the latin 'catena' meaning 'a connected series or chain'. As members we are all connected to support one another. Through this 'Chain' we gain a sense of belonging. We have a network of friends for ourselves and our families - in times of crisis, transition, uncertainty - there is something familiar. 'We belong'.

"There is a special feeling of togetherness and common purpose as a Catenian... We share a common faith and support one another." Peter Roddy - Kenilworth Catenian

What do Catenians do?

Every month we get together as a circle (often with visitors from other circles) for a meeting and meal. This is a chance to catch up and enjoy each others company. As well as these monthly dinners we hold a wide range of family social activities which allow us to meet and spend time together. These social events allow our families and friends from outside the circle to join in. The Catenians is a close, community that offers lifelong support and friendship to members and their families.

The being part of a Catenian Circle provides an unrivalled opportunity for Catholic men to live out their Christian beliefs in a confident and enriching manner. We aim to support good causes through fundraising and our bursary funds. This year our president's chosen charity is Wateraid, working to help bring lifesaving clean water to all.
